Use cases

Three ways creators use the Mixer

From narrated tutorials to cinematic soundscapes — handle every mixing scenario in one panel.

Voiceover plus background music

Lower the volume of a music track while increasing the voiceover volume so narration sits clearly on top. Use the playback button to find the right balance without guessing.

Multi-track podcast or interview

Mix a primary speaker, a guest track, and a background music bed simultaneously. Use the mute button to isolate each track to ensure clarity prior to combining all tracks for the final save.

Cinematic sound design

Combine dialogue, ambient sound, music, and channel effects across multiple tracks — pan elements left and right to create a layered stereo soundscape.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about track limits, stereo panning, ducking compatibility, and non-destructive editing.

How many audio tracks can be added to a KineMaster project?

Every KineMaster project supports (nearly) unlimited audio layers, including voiceover, music, and effect tracks.

What is the difference between Mute and Auto Volume?

Mute silences an audio track. Auto Volume balances the overall volume of the track to match other audio tracks' volumes on the Timeline.

Can I pan audio to the left or right channel?

Yes. The Mixer tool includes a pan control for the left and right channels to position audio anywhere in the stereo field.

Is the mix applied non-destructively?

Yes. All Mixer settings are non-destructive and can be adjusted at any time before saving a project as a video.
